Ejercicios Gimnasticos, number 72 in its series, lays out sixteen scenes in a neat grid: a clown on a rope, a man walking a beam with a pole, handstands, a human tower, a juggler with oranges and a performer balancing a fan on his nose, each with a two line rhyme beneath. Broadsides like this, called aleluyas, were sold cheaply on the streets of Spain, and this one was printed in Madrid in 1860 by the workshop of Jose Maria Mares. It is a wood engraving on paper, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art holds it and releases it into the public domain. The black and white grid is lively and graphic on any wall. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic moulded gallery frame in your chosen colour finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colours.
