About this print
Violet Velvet is the same study as the red, done in a colour that suits the material even better: purple pile shifts more visibly than most, so the folds read as a full range from grape through plum to something almost black. The flat light means there is no glare anywhere, only the fabric's own gradient. It is a luxurious piece without being fussy about it, well suited to a bedroom wall or a hallway that can take some depth. It groups naturally with the amethyst and dahlia pieces elsewhere in the catalogue. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
