Mary Anderson watched a New York streetcar driver lean out into sleet to clear his glass, and patented the fix (US743,801) in 1903: a spring-loaded, hand-cranked blade that swept the windscreen from inside. The idea was ahead of the car market, but by the time cars were everywhere it was standard.
This is an independent art print that reproduces a historic patent drawing from the public patent record, labelled with its patent number, year and inventor. ArtSource is an independent studio and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any brand or trademark owner; any third-party names are used only to identify the underlying patent.
Printed on 200 gsm uncoated fine-art paper using pigment inks. Framed prints use a wood frame in your chosen colour finish; canvas prints are stretched on a slim FSC-certified wood frame. Made to order; no off-the-shelf stock.
