Lapis Lazuli is the pigment source that made ultramarine more expensive than gold, and a polished slab makes the reason obvious: the blue is deep without being dark, and it holds its intensity even in flat light. Fine pyrite runs through it in gold threads, calcite in pale ones, and the two together give the eye somewhere to travel. In portrait format it suits a chimney breast, a narrow wall or the space above a desk. It is a strong blue, so it wants either plenty of white around it or a room that has committed to colour already. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic moulded gallery frame in your chosen colour finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colours.
