About this print
The blue of a morpho wing is not a pigment at all: the scales are shaped to interfere with light, which is why the colour shifts as you move and why nothing else in nature looks quite like it. At this magnification the individual scales are visible as an overlapping grid, and the blue runs from an electric cyan on the raised edges to a deep indigo in the shade. It is a striking piece with real science behind it, good for an office or a child's room where that story is worth having. Keep the wall plain. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Materials and sizes
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic moulded gallery frame in your chosen colour finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colours.
