About this print
Cranberry glass gets its colour from gold added to the melt, which is why the red is so deep and so slightly purple rather than orange. Grouped here against a plain background, the bottles catch the flat light through their walls and glow from within, going near-black where they overlap and almost pink at the thinnest edges. It is a warm, slightly old-fashioned subject handled without any nostalgia in the styling. It suits a kitchen, a dresser wall or a hallway, and it sits well with brass, walnut and cream paint. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
