About this print
Amethyst on Black is the most theatrical piece in the collection, and deliberately so: the stone sits in a field of near-black, with only the crystal faces returning any light. The violet runs hot, closer to magenta at the tips, and the contrast makes it look almost lit from within. Dark-ground images hang best where the wall behind them is light, so the black reads as depth rather than a hole, and they suit a bedroom or a hallway where the lighting is low anyway. Give it a plain frame and let the darkness do the framing. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
