About this print
Ruby Facets is corundum photographed close enough that the crystal fills the frame, its faces meeting in the blunt hexagonal planes the mineral always forms. The red is deep and slightly blue, the colour of garnet rather than postbox, and the dark surround lets it go almost black in the shadows. It is the strongest red in the collection and works best as the single bold thing in a room, over a fireplace or a bed. Charcoal, brass and dark wood meet it on level terms; a lot of white around it will make it shout. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Materials and sizes
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic moulded gallery frame in your chosen colour finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colours.
