A skein of wild geese drops toward the shore at Katada, a lone sailboat crossing water lit by the last of the sun. Gentle movement under a warm horizon.

The geese make a ragged diagonal down the sky, echoed by the sail below, while the far hills hold a soft evening pink. Descending geese at Katada is one of the classic Eight Views of Omi, the traditional set of scenes around Lake Biwa, and Utagawa Hiroshige returned to the subject across his career. This version is a woodblock print from the Metropolitan Museum of Art's open-access collection, now in the public domain. Its calm suits a living room or study, and the horizontal sweep gives the wall over a sofa somewhere to travel. Pair it with oak, rattan, and unbleached linen. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic molded gallery frame in your chosen color finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colors.
