Everything here is muffled: the drum bridge carries a thick white edge, the trees have gone soft under snow, and the flakes keep falling out of a near-black sky while a few figures hurry across under umbrellas. It is a night snow scene of Edo by Utagawa Hiroshige, catalogued at the Met under the title Ochanomizu, and this impression, probably late nineteenth century, comes from the museum's open-access collection, now in the public domain. The woodblock print's hush suits a bedroom or a quiet living room wall, and against dark paint the snowfall reads almost as texture. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic molded gallery frame in your chosen color finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colors.
