Original artwork
A procession of travellers crosses a bridge at Tsuchiyama through sheets of spring rain, cloaked figures bent under wide hats while cedars fade into the downpour. Rain made beautiful.
This is an original piece printed in its own fixed palette, so there are no color options.

The rain falls in long ruled lines across the whole sheet, and everything else, the swollen stream, the file of red-cloaked porters, the dark cedar grove, is seen through it. This is Tsuchiyama, the fiftieth station on the Tokaido road, from the Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido, the travel series that made the name of Utagawa Hiroshige, who lived from 1797 to 1858. The woodblock print is held in the Met's open-access collection and is now in the public domain. Few images do weather better, and it brings that mood indoors: hang it in a study, a hallway, or a living room that likes rain on the windows. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic molded gallery frame in your chosen color finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colors.
