About this print
Here the evening has moved on: the sky bands from ember orange into shadow, the mountain has gone a bruised violet, and the lake holds the last cool light between the bridge piers. The long bridge at Seta was a signature subject of the Eight Views of Omi, and Utagawa Hiroshige drew it more than once; this woodblock print impression is held in the Met's open-access collection, now in the public domain. The palette, teal against amber, is unusually rich for a landscape and carries well across a room. It suits a living room, a bedroom, or a study with dark wood and warm lamps. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
