About this print
Plum Marbling follows the Japanese suminagashi method, where ink is floated on water and then drawn into pattern with a single hair before the sheet is laid down. Scaled up to a wall it becomes something else: the filaments read as line work close to, and as soft tonal drift from across a room. The plum runs from a pale orchid in the thin passages to an almost black damson where the ink gathered, and the whole range belongs to one colour. Rooms with a lot of hard surface, a bathroom or a tiled hallway, take it particularly well because the pattern is all curve. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Materials and sizes
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic moulded gallery frame in your chosen colour finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colours.
