Four rows of six frames follow a man and a woman dancing, so the viewer sees the turn from every side: facing, profile, back, and round again, the light dress flaring against the dark jacket. Eadweard Muybridge photographed the couple at the University of Pennsylvania between 1884 and 1886, and the sequence was published as plate 197 of Animal Locomotion in 1887. It is one of the few studies in the series built around two people moving together. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds the plate and releases it into the public domain. It brings a little ballroom warmth to a living room or bedroom. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic moulded gallery frame in your chosen colour finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colours.
