In the top row the woman walks alone with the baby held against her shoulder; in the row below a small child dressed in white toddles alongside, keeping pace. The effect is closer to a family snapshot than a laboratory study, which is part of its charm. Eadweard Muybridge photographed the group at the University of Pennsylvania between 1884 and 1886 and included it in Animal Locomotion, published in 1887. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds the plate and makes it available as public domain. It sits naturally in a family hallway or a children's room. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic moulded gallery frame in your chosen colour finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colours.
