Across twenty frames a woman turns on the spot, fan in hand, her full skirt swinging out and settling again as she comes round. The plate is a long, narrow strip, which gives it the feel of a frieze. Eadweard Muybridge made the sequence between 1883 and 1886 at the University of Pennsylvania and it was printed as a collotype for Animal Locomotion in 1887. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds this impression and releases it into the public domain. Its low proportions suit a bedhead or a long console. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte art paper using archival pigment inks (giclée process). Framed prints use a classic moulded gallery frame in your chosen colour finish; the glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Made to order for you, in your colours.
