About this print
Dropped Ink follows the drop rather than the cloud: the head is still coherent near the top of the frame and the colour is reaching downward in tendrils, each one curling as it slows. The upright format suits that fall exactly. The violet is deep and slightly blue, and the clear water keeps every edge crisp. It is one of the more energetic pieces here, good for a study or a living room wall, and it makes an obvious series with the crimson, magenta and olive plumes. Printed to order at gallery scale in its own fixed palette.
